Short but Life-Changing: My UtopYA Experience

I was sitting here contemplating what to write for this post. I had a general idea about what I wanted to write then Cheers came on TV. As the theme song played, it got me thinking about UtopYA.

Making your way in the world today

Takes everything you've got
Taking a break from all your worries
Sure would help a lot
Wouldn’t you like to get away

Where everybody knows your name,
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows
Your name.

You wanna go where people know,
people are all the same,
You wanna go where everybody knows
your name.

The UtopYA Con in Nashville is the kind of event that once you've been there, you can't wait to get back there again. You meet the most amazing people that understand you and your love of books and reading. The camaraderie at UtopYA is very uplifting and inspiring. Here is this group of people, some you may know, some you may have met online, maybe you've only read their books or follow their blogs. All of them are genuinely happy to be there, to meet the people they admire and those that admire them. It's an exchange of information, contacts, ideas, stories, photos, books, swag, and love and respect for each other.Whether it's your first time there or you've been before, there's always something new for you to learn or someone new for you to meet.

UtopYA Con 2013

I have the distinct honor of attending this year's UtopYA Con 2013. Where I will get to schmooze with some of the most amazing writers, bloggers and fans! I'm super excited to be attending this year, especially because I'll finally get to meet the dynamic duo that basically introduced me to the world of independent authors...Carol and Adam Kunz! Plus it's in Nashville TN! Heck yeah! I'm gonna have loads of fun and promise to post as much as I can while I'm there!
