Last week I did an author spotlight on Allyson Gottlieb and her novella DARKEST LEGACY. There were all kinds of fun things going on: author interview, excerpt from the book, Tamara's playlist, a book trailer and cast pics and bios. If you missed any, check them out in the ARCHIVES.

Author Spotlight - Allyson Gottlieb: Cast Photos & Bios

Today is the last day of the Author Spotlight series on Allyson Gottlieb. We get a peak at the characters of DARKEST LEGACY with photos and a little information on each of them.

It's hard to capture the complete essence of a character in one photo. But I always like to see what photos the authors pick to represent their characters. Although they might not always be the same as our own vision, it's still interesting to get an idea of what the characters might look like.

A lot of the times, for me, no matter what the character's description is in the book, I picture them completely different.

For instance, I may picture this...

when they're supposed to look like this...

 Or vice versa! (I'm weird I know!)

Author Spotlight - Allyson Gottlieb: 9/12/13 Tamara's Playlist & Book Trailer

Today we're going to get to know Tamara Kingsley a bit. She's the protagonist of DARKEST LEGACY. I think a character's playlist is a very personal thing and you can learn a lot about them.

Because Darkest Legacy has only a few characters and you get to know them so intimately, instead of just making a playlist that applies to the work as a whole I had the idea to make a series of character-centric playlists.  This is the first one, for Darkest Legacy, and it’s Tamara-centric.

Warning: there are no overt spoilers in the explanations, but they will probably make a lot more sense if you’ve read the book first.

Today we're going to get a little more of Allyson. This Top 10 is very special...because it's Allyson's very first Top 10 List! Woohoo! The Gryffindor table is very excited!

I couldn't really decide what the best Top 10 List for Allyson should be. So I gave her the choice. And...well with this being her first one, she was up for whatever!

hmm, I don't know. I love music, and TV, and movies, and food... 

pretty much anything you could throw at me, really

So, I decided to break it up a bit. Instead of doing one Top 10, we're doing TWO Top 5's! Whaaa?! Yup! That's what I said. TWO...TOP...FIVES!

Author Bio

Allyson Gottlieb was born in California, but can't wait to go away to college and trade sunshine, bikinis, and fruit smoothies for autumn leaves, winter coats, and hot cocoa. When she's not busy working on her next bestseller, she can be found devouring books, obsessing over far too many TV shows, baking, spending time with her family and friends... and occasionally doing some homework. She has been writing since second grade and has no plans to stop until she runs out of stories to tell - so basically never.

This is my very first post in the PTB's AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT SERIES. It will be a week long event highlighting authors and their book(s). Usually, I will spotlight newly published or authors in process, but not always. I've got to give some love to my other Indie authors too!

I super excited because this week is jam-packed! I've got an excerpt, author interview and Top 10(ish) list, a book trailer, cast photos and playlists! And best of all...a giveaway! I know you all love giveaways, right?! Well, I do anyway!

DARKEST LEGACY is the first book of the series. It's out now and avaiable on Amazon. (You can get it >>>HERE). Book two, DARKEST SHADOWS, is in beta reading right now. Hopefully we'll get something by mid-December...but no promises!
